Basic Acting for Teens (ages 12 to 16)
October 11th, 18th & 25th 5pm-6pm
November 1st, 8th &15th 5pm-6pm
December 6th &13th 5pm-6pm

Classes will include the following:
Physical Warmups
Stretches, balance, posture, relaxing, focus, and movement for the stage.
​
Vocal Warmups
Relaxing, projection, enunciation, breathing, and speech for the stage.
​
Theater games for warming up and creativity
Can include a ball game, spacewalk/explosion (emotion-no emotion), sports movements, New York (what do you do), an objects game, and more.
​
Use of improv
Can include the party, slips of paper (nouns/emotions), animal behavior to human, and more.
​
Theory work
A simple introduction to method acting (sensory recall, mask), objectives, use of spine, motivation, obstacle, strategy, action, and outcome.
​
Scene work
A short piece (age appropriate) to be worked on each week.
Final class presentation for parents and friends – regular class, followed by a 45-to-60-minute presentation, to include a short scene for all students and demonstration of favorite games and improvisations.

Class dates: Oct 11,18, 25, Nov 1, 8, 15, Dec. 6, 13, 2022; 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m
(This is an 8-week course ending in a small performance for parents and invited guests to showcase your new acting skills).

Performance date: December 13, 2022 at 5:30 pm (following the class period).
Fee: $240.00 per student, due at time of registration.
​
Participant Ages: This course is geared toward ages 12-16.
​
Maximum participants is 15 per class.
