"The Play That Goes Wrong"

Saturday, September 9th

12pm - 3pm

Sunday, September 10th

6:30pm

From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!

The Flagler Playhouse will hold auditions for The Play That Goes Wrong on Saturday, September 9 (12 pm - 3 pm) and Sunday, September 10 (5 pm - 7 pm).

Rehearsals will begin on September 12. We will do a read-through and hand out the rehearsal schedule on this day.

The show dates are November 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12

We are looking for 6 MEN (aged 20 – 50) and 2 WOMEN (aged 20 – 35).

Roles Needed

CHRIS (Director/Inspector) the straight man

JONATHAN (Charles) Sandra's husband, starts the show as a deadman, dry wit

ROBERT (Thomas) Charles’s friend, Sandra’s brother

DENNIS (Perkins) the Butler – stereotypical British butler

SANDRA (Florence) Jonathan’s wife, Leading lady, very pretty, very funny

MAX (Cecil and the Gardner) – a bit crazy

ANNIE (the Stage Manager) – normal, until she takes over SANDRA’s part in the show

TREVOR (Tech – Light and Sound) – typical tech guy

We encourage everyone to read the play or find it on YouTube. It is a fast-paced, slapstick, Monty Python-like comedy. All the actors must be able to do physical comedy and bad British accents.

Please bring a headshot and resume. We will read from the script.
